While it might be intriguing to have this administration move to Europe (cultures they align with so well), what we ALL should hope Mr. Obama will do is ‘Step Down’ in a figurative sense at least! Trillion dollar spending sprees disguised as stimulus packages, ridiculous budgets, ludicrous Health Care plans and environmental legislation that would cripple our economy, is flat NOT GETTING IT DONE!!.
So Mr. O, while you didn’t get off to the best of starts, there is still time to unwind the nonsense you have accomplished and start leading the country that put their confidence in you! You and your constituents should start listening to the folks who are SCREAMING in a fashion that has not occurred in my lifetime. We don’t NEED the federal government to do everything for us (nobody ever told you this?). Please try to remember all the wonderful things you touted during your campaign. Are you thinking about doing any of these things (you can skip the ridiculous Health Care Reform bill if you don’t mind!)?
Seemingly our friends on the HILL are mostly done blaming the previous administration, but they are fixed on taking control of aspects of this country they have absolutely no business controlling! The economy can’t get moving again until the folks who could make it move have an idea what the rules are; currently this is a moving target. If someone wanted to open a factory, for example, how could that person plan it or invest when they MIGHT be subject to additional taxes (you know those nasty folks who make over $250,000 annually), or be responsible for untold dollars in health care expenses. There is a ton of money on the sidelines that can’t come out to play because the rules are unclear! Forget ‘Share the Wealth’ and let’s get back to creating it again, which we have done so well for so many years when Washington stays out of the way!
When a Georgia peanut farmer left the economy in a mess, a brilliant American realized that less (YES LESS) government intervention and taxes, would put us back on track. He was right!
How ’bout reducing the payroll tax, eliminating capital gains for a while, and eliminating ridiculous spending. You could chase after the billions in government waste in Medicare, and the infamous ‘Earmarks’; nobody would mind! What would happen with measures like these is that REAL jobs would be created, and the federal coffers would get filled with money you guys could waste (Now this is something you do well!)!
In the meantime us Stupid Folks will just have to vote all of you Brilliant Legislators out of office until you understand what we really want from Washington.
