Circling The Bowl !

Why is it that the folks in D.C. can’t help themselves when it comes to spending and handing out other peoples money? (Rhetorical, huh?). Our President (for lack of a better term) strong-arms BP to the tune of $20 Billion this week, and plans to have bureaucrats dole it out; great plan Mr. ‘O’.

Pelosi gets a new office in San Fran to the tune of (ready for this?) $19K / Month! Talk about fiscal responsibility! What are they drinking in Washington?

Wouldn’t it be nice if just once when you need to pay the mortgage you could sit down and write a check without any concern for how much it was for and whether the money was in the bank or not? This reminds me of a Jeff Foxworthy bit when the repo man said he could pay him by check. Foxworthy replied something like ‘…I thought you wanted money; I’ll pay the whole thing off!’.

This is EXACTLY what is going on inside the beltway! Does the building have to burn to the ground before the dolts call the fire department? Must we teach them what the term ‘UNSUSTAINABLE’ Means?

On this ‘Fathers Day’, it would be nice if we thought about the fathers who for over two centuries cleared a path for us to enjoy ‘Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness’. These men didn’t give their sweat and blood so people like Barack Obama could take what they have sown and give it to people who don’t sew at all; they sacrificed so we could all SEW! They gave their all so we could pursue, not be granted, the aforementioned opportunity!

I hear the liberal gibberish about how ‘this isn’t right’ or ‘that isn’t right’. I understand that some folks need help and have trouble making it in this world! My father and his father struggled their entire lives to make ends meet for their families. Nobody gave them anything to get this accomplished, except the canvas on which they could paint their own lives. Was it difficult? Of course! Did they always succeed? Of course NOT! But they lived in a land free of oppression and had every opportunity to succeed.

I submit to you (sorry Mr. Jackson) that we no longer live in a land free of oppression. I suggest that our federal government is MONSTROUSLY OPPRESSIVE, with little signs of taking their boots off of our throats! The path we now travel, with completely unrestrained Federal Spending and Entitlement Programs that are off the charts, will kill this country. The British were forced across the pond due to a tax on TEA! Compared to what is happening now, that ‘WAS A PARTY!’

The fact that most all our legislators never had to make their own way in the world, is likely a symptom that is causing the cancer that is our Federal Government. The fact that the people are throwing them out and replacing them with so-called ‘Regular Folks’, may be the vaccine this country needs!

We need to stop handing out money as if nobody had to earn it! We need REAL spending reform that is not hinged on the next election cycle! We need folks representing us that know what it is like to make it on their own. Unemployment compensation lasting over two years; what makes this a good idea? Does this motivate folks to get a job? More likely it motivates them to make money under the table!

If the circumstances in Europe aren’t screaming out to us, then there is no hope for this country. If we can’t remember that our FATHERS DIED to put down the socialism that our leaders are now embracing, we may as well all throw in the towel!

If I have to see Mr. Obama on T.V. one more time in his shirt sleeves, reading some useless words from a teleprompter, I think I might have consider Hari-Kari myself! Get a clue Washington. You want to be historical? Make the tough decisions that could pull us out of this burning building and allow America to flourish again! I am talking about the selfless decisions; the ones that make economic sense past the end of your terms. If Nancy Pelosi wanted to make headlines, she could have closed her old San Fransisco office and set one up in her back bedroom like we would do if we didn’t have the cash for an over-priced second office! If you want entitlements, set aside some cash for the lobotomy Barnie Frank obviously needs. That would be money well spent!

Let’s get back to governing and doing what needs to be done. Let’s get back to the ‘UNITED STATES’, when Washington was an insignificant place that protected our borders and built roads; not cars or financial companies or charities for those who would rather bleed us dry than do an honest days’ work! These things must be done or we will live to see a violent revolution in this country. We will live to see us throwing POLITICIANS into the ocean rather than tea!

God bless the fathers in this world! Today I am almost happy that my father did not have to witness the destruction of the country he went to war to defend! I miss you POP!
