With the country in the worst shape in my life, it is almost ridiculous the number and types of hoops GOP candidates need to jump through for the most important job on the planet!
Could you imagine applying for the president of IBM job, and having cameras follow you 24/7, recording every word, and chopping what you said into 2 second bites and throwing them back at you? Do you think the interviewers would ask questions like ‘If there was no electricity, how would you sell copiers?’. Sounds dumb, right?
Can this be any dumber than George Stephanopoulos asking Romney if he thinks states have the right to ban contraceptives? What is wrong with you George? How are we to make this country better when the interrogation of our candidates is done in this way?
How about asking the specific ways a candidate expects to get jobs going, and making them answer the question? I don’t want to know how many wives someone had, or what kind of money they made with jobs in the past. I want to know if I can trust the next jerk in the Oval Office. I want to know if he is going to continue to try to make government smaller, or spend stupidly like everyone else for the last 50 years! Who gives a rat’s ass about condoms?
The debates this weekend were ridiculous. Almost every question, including those that took minutes to fall out of Diane Sawyers’ mouth, were designed to either catch the candidates in some sort of mistake, or get them to fight amongst themselves.
A Question about what gays are supposed to do about there committed relationships if gay marriage is not the law, was posed. Is this what we should be focusing on? How about Iran, the deficit (which is now more than GDP!), job creation, regulation elimination, oil exploration; you see my point?
Let’s talk about the race. Starting with the genuine meter, I believe Romney is at one end of the scale with Hunstman following closely, then Perry, Gingrich, Paul and Santorum in that order. Can you believe Romney? About as much as I believe Nancy Pelosi. Can I believe Santorum? About as much as I believed my father!
From a practical standpoint, Gingrich is the smartest, but is not likely the best choice due to his history and the fact that the folks inside the beltway will kill him if he is nominated.
Santorum I believe would be the best choice. Conservative yet fair, experienced and he is not full of crap! Perry, Huntsman and Paul are non-starters! This leaves Romney, which the political elite want badly! I think he is too far left and likely will not be effective in the White House.
This is not to say that if he is nominated, I won’t back him; I will. ABO is the way it is, so I would back Ron Paul if he won, then get him his much needed lobotomy!
What I would like to see happen, is for the rest to drop out, have Gingrich work with Santorum, and beat Romney in the primaries. This I believe would be the best for the party and the country.
If wishes were horses, beggars would ride, they say! So we will have to watch as stupid people completely out of our control, shape the election.
Do I think Santorum will win? Not likely. Will I do everything I can to help him; I sure will!
What do you think?

I’m in limbo here. My man, Cain, is out of the race. I watch as Gingrich throws a temper tantrum and attacks Romney from the left so I have serious reservations about voting for him. I don’t like Romney because the Massachusetts Health Care Plan was the blueprint for Obama Care and Romney won’t admit he made a mistake. In my opinion, Gingrich is the smartest of the bunch, but I don’t believe I want someone as thin skinned as he holding the key to the nuclear football in the Oval Office.
Perry is a bonafide conservative but doesn’t appear capable of thinking or acting on his feet. Paul bases his foreign policy on the belief that the Pacific and Atlantic oceans will protect the USA from any foreign threat to our sovereignty. It worked a century ago but with the ICBM’s and internet his ideas definitely qualify him for a lobotomy now.
I don’t know enough about Santorum nor Huntsman to vote for either right now. This race is just about a duplicate of ’08 for us. Romney is McCain junior. And Newt’s temper tantrum this week is making it very hard for me to know who to vote for in our primary at the end of the month.
Honestly Hutch, I have been following Santorum for some time, and he would do us right. Very Conservative and honest, which may disqualify him by itself
. I am just not sure if he gets there. The fact is that the fix is in for Romney, but he could still step on his d**k and we could get Gingrich, which would be a good choice if he stays on his meds, or Santorum. Either would be fine with me, but it would pain me to pull the lever for anyone else! Thanks!
