The GOP Nomination is a VERY big deal in this country at this time. While all the talking heads have given Mitt Romney the title already, we have to make sure we are nominating the right guy! If we need a reminder, just have a look in the White House. These two are scarily similar.
You have to ask yourself why for the last four years, many Republicans looked past Romney. We can’t just vote him in because the media says he should win, or because it is his turn. Republicans didn’t like Mitt because he is full of CRAP, much like the current leader of the free world.
Tell me you can look at him and not see a car salesman. Tell me you believe his answers as he stutters over them. Tell me with a straight face that you don’t think he is a pompous asshole, and I will vote for him. The reason he is leading is he has a ton of cash, and has been practicing for four years!
Gingrich has been blasting him over Bain Capital, but he hasn’t gotten his point across properly. It isn’t the money he made with Bain or the folks that lost their jobs. It is the fact that every company Bain had to shut down, still made the venture-capital company a handsome profit. Good for Bain, I have no problem with that. The problem I have is that underhanded business practices that are legal is NOT what we want in D.C. It is way too similar to the Chicago politics we are seeing from the current regime!
To run up debt, charge exorbitant fees, run what remains of these companies into the ground and come up smelling like a rose may be smart business, but it smells bad; and there is a stink in our capital already! See what I mean about the car salesman thing?
I am happy for Mitt and the money he made; good for him! But I will be DAMNED if he is going to get my vote because he has more money than the rest. Unfortunately, that is where we are in this process.
If Gingrich or Santorum don’t beat him in South Carolina, Florida costs so much that neither will be in any position to compete!
Romney used that money, indirectly of course, to blast Newt out of the water in Iowa, and he continues similar ads through his super-pac every day. When he was confronted with these fact in the debates, he would mutter how it is illegal to tell the super-pac what to do. Again, this may be true, but it is not right or fair; is this how we would want our President to behave? Is this the kind of man who will lead this country out of the horrible mess it is in? I don’t think so!
Last thing. Has anyone forgotten Romneycare or the ridiculous way he explains it away? Check the numbers in Massachusetts; their health care costs have risen faster than anywhere else in the country. He may be proud of what he did in Massachusetts, but I would have loved to hear him say it was a mistake and that is why he would repeal Obamacare. Did he do this when he had a chance? Nope, much like Fonzorelli, I don’t think Mitt Romney could ever admit to a mistake.
Let’s not forget the fact that he is the LEAST conservative in the bunch!
Sorry Mr. Romney, but I am looking for someone with passion like Newt, or someone who hasn’t lied during the campaign like Santorum. We don’t need another guy who talks out of both sides of his mouth in Washington. We are already flush with folks like that!

We have no choice but to vote (in the election) for Obama to be defeated. We all know this.
There is simply no one in the primary (electable sp)to lead us out of this mess. It’s a no win situation. Even with Obama gone and 4 to 8 years of Romney we will be in worse shape than today.
I don’t understand why we do not have the option of a true conservative who can beat Obama. We have young men willing to serve their country and die for their country but not a viable electable conservative to serve their country without being damaged on their way up.
Thx Pete.
It’s Gingrich or Santorum for my vote in two weeks. Still don’t know which way I’ll go and probably won’t make up my mind until the day of the primary. If Romney wins, it’s ’08 all over again and Obama will have 4 more years to destroy America.
If Romney can’t admit the Massachussetts Health Care Plan was a mistake, how in the heck can we believe he will work to repeal ObamaCare? After all, Romney’s Health Care Plan was the blueprint for Obamacare.
If that isn’t enough, we have the mainstream media telling us Romney is the only Republican capable of beating Obama. Excuse me? The mainstream media was also praising McCain in ’08 because he was a “Maverick”. They praised him all the way until he won the Republican nomination; then turned on him like the hyenas they are.
It would be nice if the Gingrich and Santorum camps could get together in the next two weeks and agree to have one of them drop out of the race so all the conservative vote would go to one candidate. Unfortunately, I don’t believe either of them are humble enough to allow this to happen. Because of this, the conservative vote will be split among two camps and barring a major gaff from Romney, ensure he wins the Republican nomination. Assuming of course, he wins South Carolina by a margin of 10% or more.

Great thoughts from both of you. Thanks!
This is off the subject, but VERY germane to the election. In the last 24 hours I learned about a multi billion dollar contract going to Brazil for warplanes, when an American company offered better planes for less money, and bridge contracts in this country being awarded to Chinese firms.
American Warplanes built elsewhere? Roads and bridges built by foreigners? This country is F***D UP!
WE HAVE TO FIX IT!
So the establishment can be defeated after all. Romney’s loss tonight in South Carolina provides conservatives with a little bit of hope now. I’ll be curious to see how Gingrich’s win will be spun by the Republican Establishment and by the Mainstream Media.
Palin endorsed Gingrich in a backhanded way. Correct me if I’m wrong, but my understanding is that the Tea Party endorsed Gingrich openly. What really encourages me about Gingrich’s win is that the Mainstream Media might have had it’s tactics backfire on itself. ABC’s release of the interview with Gingrich’s second wife just before the South Carolina primary was blatantly obvious and out of bounds. Just as they used sex and infidelity to drive Cain from the primaries, they figured why not try it again.
I’m hopeful that finally enough Americans have awakened to the bias of the media and have said enough is enough. Truly a kick in the shin to the almighty Republican Establishment and the omnipotent Mainstream Media.
I’m still on the fence about Gingrich. I find his personal baggage a little bit distasteful. But I truly like his no holds barred attitude when confronting the Mainstream Media and calling out Obama’s policies. Conservatives have been wanting a fighter for years instead of the Maverick McCains and get along Romney’s of the Rino’s of the Northeast.
Santorum may very well be the best qualified of the two. But I’m afraid he might knuckle under to the all powerful Republican Establishment and Mainstream Media. One thing you can say about Gingrich even with all his faults, is that he’ll blast away at both of them and Obama to boot.
I’ve been spoiling for a fight since ’92. Now it looks like we have a candidate that will fight. If nothing else, it’s gonna be an entertaining primary now.

I am with you Hutch! I think Newt would be a great President! He would question everything, and there are enough checks/balances to keep him from doing anything dumb! The DC folks are afraid if they get behind him they may not get their congressional seat back. BULLSHIT! Gingrich knows he would have to fight for congress, senate and the white house seat if he is going to succeed. It should be fun to watch!
I am glad the voters in S.C. heard this. If I were Newt, I would forget the attacks on Romney and just point out that he has been running for 5 years and has won only one primary battle. If this doesn’t show that the GOP doesn’t want him, I don’t know what will!
