Last week was about as big a week in D.C. as I can remember. Major shifts occurred and we will discuss each of them here!
It was probably for the best that Obama was out of the country last week. If not, he would have had to be here to listen to his own liberal Justices tear down Obamacare! Sotamayor said... The bottom line is, why don’t we let Congress fix it, instead of throwing out the entire law. My favorite, Ginsburg, talking about small parts of the law that may be acceptable, was heard to say…. Why make Congress redo those? These are his buddies in the court; no need to feed you the lines from the conservatives. To summarize; He gets caught sucking on the Russians’ icicles, and his premier legislative achievement is looking like it is going down in flames! Maybe you should stay in Asia for a while buddy! We can have Biden say all the stupid stuff you would normally say if you were here! Same week, same President; he speaks about remove the $40 Billion that the oil companies get in tax breaks (that every other manufacturer gets as well), and before taking a breath, he tells the audience that we should take this money and throw it at MORE ridiculous green energy projects. What planet are you on? It only took moments before the Senate voted this down in a bi-partisan fashion. Sadly, the last thing that is over, realistically, is the Republican primary. Marco Rubio, Bush senior, and Paul Ryan all came out for Romney last week. This disturbs me, and it shows little backbone for these endorsers. I HATE the fact that we will have to settle for Romney, but sometimes you have to take your lumps. It will be good to see the GOP come together behind one, if not ideal, candidate. I liked the idea that we could nominate an Honest man for a change, but alas, not this time. I thought the Santorum campaign was refreshing; kinda made you think that all things in D.C. don’t suck, but I guess they still do! With an eye to the future, I am happy Obama is shooting himself in the foot, and I volunteer to pack up the White House for him! My Two Cents, How ‘Bout Yours? Pete G,
